Our craft group at Byker have reported for duty by crocheting, knitting and stitching these cheerful cuddly toys which are on their way to accompany police officers on patrol across the region.
The ‘Trauma Teddies’ scheme was launched in September 2017 where police officers give a cuddly toy to young children they meet when responding to incidents.
Make Do and Share is a sharing circle who meet on Monday afternoons at our Byker centre. Our philosophy is ‘busy hands soothe anxious minds’, and we’re delighted that our handiwork will in turn soothe children at a potentially distressing time.
