Sky Tyne and Wear Interview
The story follows the National Union of Teachers (NUT) Annual Conference, where a resolution was debated that sexism and inequality are still shaping women's lives.
The resolution called for the NUT to express its concerns about "the rise of what has become commonly known as 'raunch culture', where the old sexism of the past has been rebranded by big business."
Sky Tyne and Wear interviewed Kate Mukungu, CEO of Tyneside Women's Health, about the pressures faced by women to present themselves in a sexualised way and asked Newcastle and Northumbria University students their responses

Fabulous Books, Fantastic Places brings together a whole series of events and projects centered around the artist’s book and the North East region. This blog will be updated and enhanced by the participants taking part in a series of book related activities in the run up to the Festival of the North East and Baltic Artist’s Book Fair June 14th & 15th. A huge well done to Tyneside Women’s Health and our partners who successfully tendered to deliver a Mental Health Project as part of Science City, training diverse women from East and West Newcastle as Wellbeing Champions

This means that women from a variety of cultures are now trained in the Five a Day for Health and Happiness to roll out key messages in ways that are credible and sensitive to the needs to local community members
